The Advocate is Louisiana’s largest newspaper is serves the southern part of the state, including Baton Rouge, Lafayette and New Orleans.

At the very edges of Baton Rouge, just before you leave the parish, on a road called Old Hammond Highway, The Advocate used to have a Circulation Repair Facility. This is where news vending machines were repaired and distributed from.

Once upon a time news vending machines could be found on every sidewalk, of every city and town across the United States. In the digital age these dispensers are forgotten in all but the largest city.
