Springs Preserve

The Las Vegas Springs Preserve consists of 180 acres (73 ha) dedicated to nature walks and displays . The Preserve is located approximately 3 mi (5 km) west of downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The Preserve is built around the original water source for Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Springs.

Attractions at the preserve includes among others:

  • An award-winning Botanical Garden, home to the largest public collection of Mojave Desert plants
  • The location where Las Vegas began! Walk, bike, or ride the train through our trails and discover native habitats and archaeological sites.
  • Explore native Mojave Desert wildlife through live animal exhibits and natural and restored habitats, including our 15-acre Desert Tortoise Habitat.
  • Boomtown 1905: A life-sized, re-creation of a Las Vegas streetscape of 1905. The interactive exhibit showcases what the city used to look like from 1905 - 1920.
  • A butterfly habitat that showcases the way the marvelous insects and how they live.
