Utah, USA

If you think of Utah the first things that will come to mind are probably Salt Lake City, Mormons and beehives (from the state nickname "Beehive State")

However, Utah's most salient features are its stunning landscapes in national and state parks. Among them you'll find:

  • Zion National Park
  • Arches National Park
  • Monument Valley
  • Canyonlands National Park
  • Bryce Canyon National Park
  • Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument
  • Dead Horse Point State Park
  • Capitol Reef National Park
  • Cedar Breaks National Monument
  • Natural Bridges National Monument
  • Dinosaur National Monument
  • Great Salt Lake
  • Bonneville Salt Flats

Utah is also home home to Best Friends Animal Society. Just outside Kanab, Utah, Best Friends has been running the nation's largest no kill sanctuary for companion animals and building effective programs that reduce the number of animals entering shelters. The group does outreach nationwide with shelters, rescue groups and members to promote pet adoption, no-kill animal rescue, and spay-and-neuter practices.
